STRATEGY, not TACTICS
Achieving a long-lived, positive conversion rate is rarely the result of getting lucky by repeatedly executing successful tactics time after time. Rather, it’s the result of a strategy that reveals itself as tactics. Some tactics win, some don’t. But the whole ship doesn’t falter because of a weak tactic, it prospers because of a strong strategy that encompasses the tactics.
TWO REASONS WE CALL IT “Pivot”
First, “Pivot” is a close working partner to Swivel. If technology swivels, then the research and internet marketing that assist the technology do something similar, they pivot. Most things built in Swivel are informed by Pivot before, during and after the build.
Second, we call it Pivot because the phenomena we measure are always changing. We have to take a turn to a new direction, often. When we measure something new, perhaps it’s turned at 90 degrees to where it was last week. And we change our recommendations, we pivot, based on new information from new environments. Sometimes we can stay parallel to a current course. But there’s always the potential for a change, a pivot.
